Program areas at National Council of Jewish Women Essex

The linda and rudy slucker ncjw/essex center for Women (cfw) provides holistic career and support services to Women who must enter or re-enter the workforce to provide for themselves and their families. At the cfw, clients can access career counseling, resume writing and job interview skills, computer classes, grants for job certification training programs, hard and soft skills workshops, access to recruitment opportunities, health and wellness workshops, family law consultations and more, including referrals to partner organizations to meet a client's outstanding needs. Our focus is to ensure every client has the resources necessary and is empowered to reach her employment goals.
Back 2 school store (b2ss): each year, the ncjw/essex's b2ss outfits 1,000 plus children in financial need with essential school items like a backpack, school supplies, winter coat, socks and underwear, and toiletries. The b2ss also provides the parents of these children with information, resources and support services.
Ncjw/essex is an organization that upholds the ideal that ordinary people can make a real and lasting difference in other people's lives simply by taking action. Those actions are all the more extraordinary because they represent not just one person's effort, but also the exponential impact of a group of individuals acting together with a common purpose. Our volunteer offerings include the back 2 school store, kids emergency closet, creative hands, period.project, mitzvah-in-a-minute, the eskow awards, center for Women, and various program and project work.
