Housing Counseling: Transformance, Inc. is a multi-state HUD approved housing counseling agency providing foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation counseling, HECM (reverse mortgage) counseling, and pre-purchase as well as post-purchase counseling to assist homeowners in understanding their rights, financial responsibilities, and options as homeowners. Transformance, Inc. has been a member of the Homeowner's HOPE Hotline since February 2008, providing housing counseling, via the 888-995-HOPE hotline, to homeowners facing foreclosure. All of our counselors are certified and maintain certification through the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. During 2015, 8,136 individuals and families were counseled by Transformance, Inc. on foreclosure or other housing related matters.
Financial Education and Community Outreach: Nothing contributes more to a person's success and well being than basic financial skills. Transformance's Community Education and Outreach team ensures this education is available to the communities we serve by teaching financial literacy classes through employers, schools, churches, civic groups, as well as individual consumers at free seminars provided throughout the community. We offer a wide range of curriculum such as budgeting, understanding credit reports and credit scores, and surviving a financial crisis. Transformance, Inc. continued presenting financial literacy webinars in 2015 to reach a broader audience as well as offer flexibility and ease in participating from the comfort of the consumer's home and workplace. In 2015, our Community Education and Outreach team served 1,483 individuals and families with public presentations and webinars.
Budget/Credit Counseling and Debt Management Plans: Transformance, Inc. provides budget and credit counseling to consumers free of charge. During budget and credit counseling sessions, our certified counselors assist clients in assessing their current position, developing workable budgets and spending plans, setting financial goals and determining an ongoing action plan. During the year 2015, Transformance, Inc. provided 8,655 debt management plans and budget and credit counseling sessions. Clients sometimes have the option to enroll in a debt management plan developed to help reduce debt, bring accounts current with manageable monthly payments, and assist in becoming debt free within three to five years. Full budget reviews are provided to ensure consumers are living within their means and prioritizing their expenses. Interest rates on credit cards are reviewed, and clients are advised on how they can best pay down their own debts, including how to negotiate with creditors to improve the situation.
