Program areas at Clearpoint Financial Solutions
Financial counseling - during 2013, Clearpoint, through its branch network of Financial specialists, conducted 28,000 counseling sessions. These no-cost counseling sessions were conducted in person, by telephone, and via the internet and are offered to any person in need of Financial assistance. While we are constantly attempting to improve our counseling services, the quality of these sessions is supported by a 98% client satisfaction rate in our client surveys.
Community presentations - Clearpoint conducted nearly 550 presentations with nearly 7,900 attendees during 2013. In addition, Clearpoint employees participated in 670 community events, meeting with over 10,000 consumers. Reaching out to groups in the communities we serve, Clearpoint helps clients identify and avoid potential Financial problems and provides guidance on how best to handle these issues.
Housing counseling - Clearpoint offers housing counseling to those who were considering purchasing homes, those who were at risk of losing their existing homes due to foreclosure, and those seeking reverse mortgage loans. These counseling services provide valuable information to those who seek guidance in understanding the many options associated with purchasing or keeping their homes. During 2013, Clearpoint conducted over 11,000 housing counseling sessions.
Bankruptcy counseling - as required by congress, Clearpoint is authorized by the executive office of us trustees (eoust) to provide counseling to those seeking bankruptcy protection. Only those non-profit agencies which qualify and pass the rigorous standards of eoust are given this authority. During 2013, Clearpoint provided over 1,500 bankruptcy counseling sessions.
Bbbtips - Clearpoint maintains a strong, reputable and positive relationship with the better business bureau and is the first nonprofit organization to qualify for system-wide membership with bbb. During 2013, Clearpoint continued its sponsorship of bbbtips on credit, a series of articles and radio public service announcements which can be found on bbb's website. Clearpoint also worked with the bbb to produce video clips as well as segments specifically aimed at college students, on a range of topics related to budgeting, credit and housing. These clips are now available at www.us.bbb.org/financialtips or www.clearpointccs.org.
Education initiatives - in 2013, Clearpoint supported consumer requests for information, with over 600,000 unique visits to our website. The Clearpoint media team achieved record numbers in 2013, strengthening our position as a trusted source for Financial education and counseling. We participated in 373 media interviews that were published or broadcast 906 times. We were featured in 99 broadcast and published media interviews during the year. Highlights include interviews with the wall street journal, consumer reports, us news & world report, black enterprise, the fox business website, yahoo finance, the today show website, reverse mortgage daily, the nbc news website, nj 101.5 fm, kcpq-tv (fox), komo-tv (abc) and wsyr-tv (abc).during the spring and summer of 2013, Clearpoint attended key conferences to promote Financial firsts, delivering presentations at the university of California in berkeley (uc berkeley) and the university of California in los angeles (ucla). We also attended the national council of teachers of mathematics in denver and the american association of family & consumer sciences conference.many consumers struggling with student loan debt sought our help through our blogs and sites, with over 130,000 visits to our student loan counseling program.clearpoint also created customized educational materials in spanish for the 12 participating markets (austin, fresno, los angeles, miami, portland, sacramento, santa ana, san antonio, san bernardino, san diego, seattle and Washington d.c.) during four quarterly educational weeks. A total of more than 30,000 pieces were produced and shipped to each one of the 12 participating markets. All items were used to educate hispanics about Financial issues in their language. More than 5,000 consumers liked our penny pincher Financial education page on facebook in 2013.
Student loan counseling - although student loan counseling began well into 2013, Clearpoint counseled 410 clients, 110 of which were clients who previously underwent other types of counseling; reflecting both a healthy demand for student loan counseling as a supplement to Clearpoint's other established counseling offerings, as well as a counseling service in its own right. In 2013, Clearpoint also developed a new, multi-agency standard for tracking and reporting student loan counseling statistics as well as a database and digital reporting infrastructure for the student loan alliance (sla). This database will allow sla members to measure the impact of our counseling programs, both individually and in aggregate. Clearpoint also embarked on a student loan awareness campaign where Clearpoint counselors have appeared in local and affiliate news broadcasts across the country, as well as featured in the national news (nbc and cnbc). Clearpoint added a new student loan content to its website, including inforgraphics, video and content-rich articles; and has built a new student loan counseling intake to expand the opportunities for those struggling with student loans to get the counseling they need.
