Saint Dominic's community based Services department provides home-based Services to prevent separation of families, increase Family stability and reduce the stressors that families face. The community based Services department consists of seven community-based programs in the bronx and rockland county. A majority of the children and families come from the most impoverished neighborhoods and the children are at risk of being abused, abandoned, neglected or institutionalized. Moreover, some of the children and parents have physical, mental and/or developmental disabilities. The agency also provides a foster care program under contract with the new york city administration for children's Services. The goal is to achieve permanency for children as quickly as possible and to provide Services to children see schedule owho have been abused and neglected as well as those who have physical, mental, social, developmental and emotional problems.
