Harcatus tri-county c.a.o., Inc.s mission is to plan, coordinate and operate programs designed to combat problems of poverty. It also commits itself to achievement of self sufficiency for low income persons and to strategize and mobilize resources to battle and eliminate poverty. Child development provides classes in which children develop educational and life skills in-kind 211,113. Community services provides emergency utility payments for individuals with shut off notices from utility companies. They also provide a food pantry, community nest, and clothes closet. The community nest provides sundry items in addition, they provide assistance with homeless prevention and rapid rehousing. Food and nutrition includes two programs senior nutrition and child and adult care feeding program. Senior nutrition provides nutritious meals to seniors in congregate and home based locations. Transportation is provided in one rural county to the nutrition sites. Child and adult care feeding program is a home day care based program where day care providers serve nutritious meals to program eligible children. The providers are reimbursed for the cost of the meal through the program. Additionally, day care center sites have been added that are reimbursed for the cost of the meals they provide to eligible children.
