Omaha Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the citizens of Omaha and surrounding communities through the presentation of the finest local, national, and international artistic performances.

Through the performance and advancement of symphonic music, Lincoln's symphony orchestra will enrich, educate and entertain current and potential audiences. Lincoln symphony orchestra presents five classical concerts and two pops concerts each year at the lied center for performing arts. In these concerts, we offer symphonic repertoire played by our professional musicians alongside world-renowned soloists and in collaboration with local arts organizations. In an effort to be accessible to all segments of our community, we implemented new affordable ticket prices of $15 and $30, with reduced-priced tickets available to young professionals and music educators. During the 2015-16 season, we reached more than 11,000 patrons, and provided $5 student tickets to more than 1,100 youth. Lincoln symphony orchestra also presents two family concerts each season specifically designed to engage a young audience. Following pre-concert activities (face-painting, instrument "petting zoo " with mini -lessons, and crafts), we present an hour of serious classical repertoire, interspersed with narrative to help children put what they are hearing into context. We have created a new "family pass et, which allows two adults and all dependent children to attend both concerts for an affordable flat fee. Through partnerships with Lincoln public schools and other local human service organizations, we provide more than 500 complimentary tickets for low. Income students and families for each concert. Lincoln symphony orchestra engages in a broad range of educational and outreach initiatives. In addition to our young people's concerts, which serve 4,500 students, our conductor and artists work with school orchestras and the Lincoln youth symphony, and prioritize visits to low-income elementary schools. We offer subsidized tickets for members of local youth symphonies, and high school students can purchase a season-long pass for only $30. We also participate in the lied center's "arts for all" program to provide complimentary tickets to non-traditional unl students, and our pre-concert chats encourage audience members of all ages to learn more about the music.
