Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement (VIDA) helps low-income, unemployed and underemployed Rio Grande Valley residents get the training they need to secure a high-skilled, high-wage job.

The Rio Grande valley empowerment zone began operations in January 1995 as a non-profit organization to enable the Rio Grande valley to become a prosperous region with quality communities, a skilled workforce employed in sustainable jobs paying livable wages and equal opportunity for all citizens. Current program focus is on the following community youth development, victims of crime, community resource center, community partner program and youth services directory.
