Wcee organizes educational, professional development, and networking events for its members. For the fiscal year 2022, this included: virtual executive exchange series conversations with leaders like ferc chairman richard glick, usea acting executive director shelia hollis, chief sustainability officer of los angeles lauren o'connor, dept. Of Energy office of Energy efficiency and renewable Energy principal kelly speakes-backman, naruc center for partnership & innovation directors, alliance to save Energy president paula glover, naseo leadership, and the director of the federal permitting Council christine harada. Wcee also held two virtual events celebrating its 40th anniversary: fireside chat with founding members and a networking event featuring the honorable jane lubchenco, ph.d., dep. Dir. For climate and environment at the white house office of science and technology policy. Other virtual events during this time included two networking events, two author spotlights, a new member meet & greet, two virtual book club meetings, two knowledge building events on equity in clean Energy and hydrogen developments, a co-sponsored event with dentons on women leading utilities, and two career events for students and recent graduates with google. Wcee also returned to small in-person events with tours of a Virginia farm and a solar-powered brewery, an anacostia river boat tour, and a hike in great falls, va and kicked off a new one-on-one networking program for members.
