Education and training: The National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (neuac) has hosted an annual conference to provide education and training for Utility assistance stakeholders for more than 30 years. Up to 800 attendees participate annually, spanning The country from nonprofit organizations, government, tribal and Utility sectors. Topics include Energy insecurity, serving vulnerable populations, Energy efficiency and renewables, water Affordability, understanding federal assistance programs, and community outreach and education. Neuac provides additional education opportunities throughout The year through webinars, briefings, and technical assistance for its members and other interested stakeholders. Neuac bridges The gap between states, social service organizations and utilities to empower them to work together and learn from each other in times of Energy and poverty crisis. The organization also responds to media requests for information on Utility assistance policy and programming.
Research and advocacy: The National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (neuac) provides policy analysis, advocacy, and research on federal Energy policies to nearly 300 member organizations and other interested stakeholders. Topics covered include implementation of The low income home Energy assistance program (liheap), innovative program design and partnerships, news from The field of Energy assistance, weatherization and Energy efficiency, and water Affordability. Neuac provides its members with tools to advocate for liheap and other funding to support income-constrained families, as well as knowledge of government policies and initiatives and other resources to support their work on income constraint issues. Each year, neuac hosts liheap action day, a two-day program for effective advocacy training, policy discussion, and networking, in addition to meetings with policymakers on The hill.
