Reach for changewise acted as fiscal agent with respect to a contribution to reach for change, a non-profit organization that helps Social entrepreneurs develop innovations that create a better world for children. The money was used to award grants to entrepreneurs working to combat child trafficking. Reach for change is a swedish nonprofit organization.
in partnership with challenging heights, wise provided a grant to fund the construction of smoke ovens and a cold storage facility designed to enable families who earn their livelihood through fishing to preserve and improve the quality of their catches, thus making it possible for them to generate income year round, rather than only during the relatively short fishing season. Challenging heights is a registered ngo and ghanaian charity that works with children who have been the victims of child traffickers and their families. Because one the of the underlying causes of trafficking is the deperate poverty of the children's families.
Wise funded the construction of a palm oil processing facility in partnership with nnetka foundation. The facility will make it possible for several hundred very poor ghanaian Women to increase their palm oil production by having access to automation, thereby greatly increasing their incomes. The facility is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
