Program areas at Turnaround Community Outreach

Turnaround Community Outreach provides free groceries and free clothing to homeless and low income families twice a month. We served 1,878 individuals during their regular grocery and clothing giveaways. We served an additional 183 people with free clothing at Christmas time.Turnaround Community Outreach provides assistance to the homeless in obtaining a state issue photo ID. Clothing for Teen & Baby Program - In 2015 we served 377 people and the goals were to: 1. Provide a place where young mothers can get help and information on how to effectively parent their children. 2. Use local agencies, hospitals, etc. to educate the teen and family about nutrition, baby check-ups, or how to know when their babies should go to the doctor. 3. Supply items that they need for themselves and their babies (such as diapers, clothing, baby food, lotions, etc.)
Turnaround Community Outreach served 3,142 hot meals to homeless and low income families once a week during their regular lunch program.
Family impact initiatives which included various special events such as: Thanksgiving Event - We served hot meals to 632 people and gave groceries to families and individuals.Quest Bright House Volunteers:Quest Bright House is a residential substance abuse program for girls between the age of 15 and 18. The 10-12 Bright House residents volunteer each Tuesday at Turnaround Community Outreach which fulfills their requirement to give back to the community. Volunteering at TCO teams them with wonderful role models and provides them with volunteer work experience.Lucky Shoes Fashion Show:Lucky Shoes and Turnaround Community Outreach sponsored this event for 59 women from shelters, referred by Social Services or attending the Teen Parent & Baby Program. It included a "High Heel Fashion Show" as entertainment with Lucky Shoes donating a pair of shoes to each young mother in attendance.
