Program areas at Episcopal Community Services
Family Resource Centers Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are located in St Paul, Stillwater, Fairmont, and Minneapolis. FRCs assist low-income individuals and families in moving toward self-efficiency through comprehensive services that address issues in the areas of employment; childcare; safe, affordable housing; transportation; and much more.Resident Service Programs Resident Service Programs provide a professional ECS social worker on-site to offer support to low-income individuals and families. They address issues around stable housing, employment and family life. In addition, ECS collaborates with other community based efforts to best meet the needs specific to the neighborhood and to host regular family and youth activities. ECS operates seven sites at which the program services are offered. Supportive Housing Program The Supportive Housing Program serves low-income families by helping locate stable affordable housing, alleviating financial stress through employment opportunities, and identifying long-range goals. ECS works with faith communities to offer monthly rental subsidies, emergency financial support, and committee and family mentor support. Center for Families Center for Families, located in North Minneapolis, provides a wide array of community-based services to families in that area, with a specific focus on serving West African families and individuals that are newly arrived in the United States. The overarching goal of ECSs work at the Center for Families is to help families avoid or overcome homelessness by helping them secure long-term safe, affordable housing Ready for Success Women (RFS Women) RFS Women provides low-income women with the professional attire necessary for entering or re-entering the workforce. But more than clothing, shoes, and accessories, RFS Women provides an opportunity to gain the self-esteem necessary to embrace, with confidence, with confidence, new employment or a job interview. Since its inception in 1997, RFS Women has served over 10,000 women. Ready for Success Men (RFS Men) RFS Men provides low-income men with the professional attire necessary for entering or re-entering the workforce. The program graduated from a pilot program to become an official ECS program in 2010.
