Program areas at The Foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association

Scholarship activities include providing education scholarships to students pursuing careers in The automotive and transportation industries. Scholarships are awarded to students who successfully qualify through The Foundation's application process. The scholarship process provides each applicant The opportunity to showcase their individual career abilities and potential to be a future technician. One and two-year scholarships are awarded, and a donated automotive tool set is provided to automotive and transportation students attending Wisconsin technical colleges.
Community outreach activities include activities related to promotion of The automotive and transportation industries and The goodwill these industries provide in The state of Wisconsin and within their local communities.
Educational activities include career awareness programs throughout Wisconsin including: familiarize individuals to The variety of work opportunities available in The automotive and transportation industries and The education requirements, provide individuals with information on successful job search and interview techniques, participate in The teacher certification institutes to maintain their professional status and help manage The Wisconsin automotive service excellence (ase) program throughout Wisconsin. Student career fair activities include career awareness programs serving students throughout Wisconsin. Attendees and their families are introduced to a variety of work opportunities available in The automotive and transportation industries and The education requirements. This program also provides students with information on successful job search and interview techniques to apply on any opportunity in their employment search. Teacher professional development activities include preparation and facilitation of two teacher certification institutes for automotive and transportation teachers to assist them in maintaining their professional status. The teachers institute provides Wisconsin teachers with professional credit hours. The training sessions help teachers and their programs keep up on current trends and technology at high industry standards. Middle school summer camp activities include The Foundation partnering with technical colleges and dealerships to facilitate middle school student summer camps. These weeklong camp experiences expose young people to a wide variety of automotive and transportation related career pathways. Student competition event activities include Foundation staff and industry volunteers on The annual skillsusa Wisconsin automotive competition technical committee. The Foundation also assists and contributes to other Wisconsin automotive and transportation student competitions. Ase accreditation activities include The Wisconsin ase that started in 1997. Ase is a satellite program that assists automotive and transportation students providing industry certified continuing education and lifelong employment. The Foundation's ase program serves 18 active Wisconsin high school and co-op sites, and well over 2,000 students. Support is also provided to 75+ non-accredited transportation education programs in Wisconsin.
