After a disappointing first year to the campaign for a place for the people, and a blockbuster year in 2021, the Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society was able to complete its $2.5 million capital cam paign in 2022. Noteworthy gifts to the campaign in 2022 included a most generous $250,000 gift from the shakopee mdewakanton sioux community of minneapolis, mn and a $50,000 gift from the ford family foundation of roseburg, Oregon. Other gifts of note in 2022 included a $10,000 gift from the robert and marcia randall foundation, two $5,000 gifts from, respectfully, the oneatta fund and the redtail fund of the Oregon community foundation. In addition to this institutional support, the campaign for a place for the people received dozens of donations of $1,000 or less from individuals across the state of Oregon and the nation. Altogether, the Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society was able to raise just under $2.75 million, nearly $250,000 more than our campaign goal of $2.5 million.
