Program areas at Seedling

The Foundation launched its mentor program in february 2006 for children who are affected by the incarceration of one or both of their parents. The Foundation recruits volunteers from the community, matches them with eligible children, and offers ongoing support to both children and mentors. The mentors provide stable, long-term relationships for the students and help them develop and maintain positive attitudes towards school. During the 2022/2023 school year a total of 501 children (grades k-12) received mentoring in 130 schools.
