In 2020, the Housing Trust continued to operate a successful homebuyer training and counseling program with three contracts from the city of Santa Fe to manage homebuyer programs, complete income certifications for city programs, and operate two pools of downpayment assistance funded by the city. Twelve families were assisted in financing and buying new homes from builders sold at deep discounts through "inclusionary Housing" programs of the city of Santa Fe and Santa Fe county. The organization continued to provide Housing services for people with hiv with downpayment assistance through a multi-year federal grant, and was awarded a special round of federal hopwa-r recovery act funding for emergency rent subsidies. A total of 24 loans totaling 1,776,461 were made from the funding sources just described, plus recycled Housing Trust funds from loan repayments and a grant program of the u.s. dept. Of treasury making loans to underserved populations. The Housing Trust completed the rent-up of the 87 newly constructed apartments in its solaris station affordable rental project, completed in the fall of 2019 at a cost of over 16 million with financing from private investors, the nm mortgage finance authority, donations from private developers, and federal tax credits. The Housing Trust completed construction of the arroyo central subdivision, in which 10 homes have been sold to lower-income families. They also began construction on six town homes in the aldea subdivision and completed entitlement processes for a third subdivision in tierra contenta called arroyo oeste, where 10 out of 20 homes will be affordable for lower income buyers. Since its founding in 1992, the Housing Trust has built over 200 rental apartments and over 720 homes in 24 Santa Fe neighborhoods. It has provided homebuyer counseling to over 5,500 prospective homebuyers, and made over 2,500 affordable home purchase assistance loans. It operates a Community land Trust with nearly 90 scattered site units and has also assisted more than 500 renters through special programs for unhoused and chronically disabled clients.
This amount represents the cost of construction on the arroyo central home development.
