Program areas at Safe Harbor
Shelter: Safe Harbor's domestic violence shelters are confidentially located in three upstate south carolina counties (greenville, anderson, and oconee). Services offered for victims and their children include a Safe place to stay, food and household supplies, advocacy services and client support needs. In 2022, we accepted 279 women and children in our shelter program.
Transitional housing: Safe Harbor operates two housing programs - housing assistance and rapid rehousing. Both programs offer rent/deposit assistance and utility assistance for clients in the program. A case manager works with the clients to determine needs and provide resources. An average of 46 clients and children were served each month in 2022.
Community programs (counseling and advocacy): Safe Harbor's community counseling program provides services to clients in greenville, anderson, pickens, and oconee counties in the upstate area of south carolina. Counseling includes services for victims of domestic violence and counseling for children who have witnessed domestic violence. Community advocacy connects clients with services available and assists with filing for orders of protection. These community programs provided a combined 2,728 hours of direct service in 2022.
Safe Harbor has a volunteer program, an outreach program, a prevention program (primarily for middle/high school students), and a resale store that is a combination of programs (providing for client needs), outreach and fund raising.
