Program areas at Residents Council of Canterbury Court
The lives of the Residents of Canterbury Court are greatly enhanced by the caring staff. As the Residents are an aging population, assistance is often necessary and intimate. The organization rewards associates of Canterbury Court who do so much to improve the lives of the Residents with gifts of appreciation, scholarships and other awards. The activity is funded by contributions solicited from the Residents.
The activities include trips to various regional points of interest, stage events, lectures, musical performances, art museums, etc. These programs are arranged and presented to enhance the lives and to stimulate the minds of the Residents. They are coordinated by a full-time Canterbury Court employee with the assistance of volunteers from the corporation. Extensive opportunities to pursue personal hobbies and interests along with involvement in many corporate programs that benefit all Residents are available.
Several activities were provided to stimulate and to socialize an elderly population through celebration of religious and national holidays. The organization selects a wide variety of movies to be shown twice daily for the enjoyment of the Residents. The organization sponsors parties on holidays for both mobile and handicapped resdients. It also provides a weekly program following the evening dinner.
