Poor Roberts Mission

Last year Poor Roberts delivered 7,247 Thanksgiving turkeys to 111 charitable organizations. These organizations then distributed the turkeys to their network of food-insecure individuals and families throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. This effort was made possible by forty-two volunteers who worked on Distribution Day to load the awaiting cars and trucks and by the over five hundred individuals and local businesses who donated funds to allow the purchase. Funds raised in excess of our turkey purchase needs are delivered via cash grants at the end of the year to local charities that are committed to addressing food insecurity in our area. The Board of Directors and associated volunteers draw no salary or compensation of any kind. We are a 100% volunteer effort so the company has no employees. The company issued one 1099 last year to a marketing consulting company.
