Program areas at Ncher
The Association provides advocacy activities on behalf of state, nonprofit, and for- profit organizations involved in federal and private student loan programs and college access and success initiatives, through its ongoing involvement, on behalf of its members, with Congress, the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Communications Commission, and other associations and organizations engaged in student loan financing and policy.
The membership and program services consist of the Organizations efforts to promote the membership services provided to students and families and keep them apprised of federal, state and industry actions and developments.
NCHER holds two major educational conferences each year, which spans across the diverse memberships needs and addresses their areas of expertise. The NCHER Legislative and Leadership Conference is geared toward executive level staff in an effort to keep them abreast of federal and state developments impacting the higher education finance industry. The NCHER Annual Conference is open and designed for everyone across the industry and provides attendees with ample opportunities to network, learn, and take information back home that they can use in their current jobs from hearing about the current trends and hot topics to exploring new and potential business opportunities.
The committee programs address operational and regulatory issues of interest to the student loan and grant community. The organizations main committees consist of the: College Access and Success Committee, Legal Affairs and Compliance Committee, Private Education Loan and Consumer Finance Committee, and Federal Program and Regulations Committee.
