Program areas at Mira USA
2022 was a year of great challenges, but even so we have strengthened and grown as an organization. The adversities facing the world have not been an impediment for Mira USA to continue its hard work, reaching its goals by touching many hearts, and contributing to the quality improvement of our community life, benefiting more than 4,287 people in 284 activities. In 2022, we continued to work as a certified organization and accredited by the u.s. department of justice, to assist low-income people seeking immigration legal services as part of our immigration assistance program. We conducted the free virtual workshop "lose your fear of the citizenship test", where attendees could participate in an english practice session with our bilingual volunteers, including reading and writing, civics questions and the n-400 form. We also provided support through personalized interviews to more than 468 people in need of immigration counseling. We benefited 2,233 people in 22 events with our financial education and personal development program. This program seeks to promote the financial stability of immigrants in the united states. The more knowledge people have about credit and banking, the better decisions they will make regarding money matters, saving money, and improving their financial condition and well-being.for the Mira USA organization, it is very important to provide relevant information for the immigrant community in the united states. For this reason, the workshops we conducted this year include topics such as: - personal finance: we highlight the Mira USA financial education month held in september, workshops include savings strategies, teaching our children the value of money, financial recovery, among others. - finance and small business development - job search tools - seminars with important information for those who wish to buy a home in the united states. - women's entrepreneurship: we have the following series of seminars: "women: innovate, entrepreneur and create", providing tools for women entrepreneurs, with expert panelists on current topics that are very useful in the professional and business fields. In addition, in october, a new course in dressmaking began in new york, where 14 women learn the basics of the art of sewing and how to start their own business.another of our programs, our program global alliance seeks to establish alliances with national and international organizations on issues relevant to the communities, with the objective of sharing knowledge, programs, and resources with these entities. As part of this program and in alliance with the american red cross, we developed our "saving lives" program where our Mira USA volunteers are trained in disaster response and prevention and take part in fire alarm installation activities across the country, saving thousands of lives, through which we were able to benefit 1,222 through 12 events.we remain committed to the u.s. Immigrant community, which is why we celebrate the triumphs we have achieved together in 2022.
