Program areas at Maryland State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution
Historic preservation: support of the operation and restoration of the historic Maryland State Society chapter house including repair of back porch; maintainance the madonna of the trail statue in bethesda; contributions to State chapter houses; contributions to repair and restore the historic complex of buildings of the national Society - constitution hall; contributions for cleaning and preserving the Maryland room at the nsdar museum; and contributions to local and community historic preservation efforts.
Patriotic: support of our active military personnel and veteran's projects, including contributions to social work/support at the veteran's administration hospitals in baltimore, md and perry point, md; support of jrotc programs at local high schools and support of organizations dedicated to helping recovering veterans, including hunters helping heroes.
Educational: contributions to national Society Daughters of the American Revolution - sponsored schools to provide educational opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable to the population they serve, including special needs programs that would address problem areas such as attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, adult literacy and children in family crisis; awarding scholarships to students attending accredited colleges and universities; recognizing students and teachers who excel in areas that support the national and State missions; conducting educational meetings that inform members of the organization's historical and patriotic achievements.
