Animal welfare programs: foster / adoption services. Sterilization, vaccination, microchipping. Short-term shelter. Pet owner assistance.
Humane education we offer a wide variety of presentations for school groups ( pre-k through grade 12) and community / adult groups. Our school programs are based on curriculum developed by the american Humane association, aspca, the denver dumb friends league, best friends animal Society, Humane Society youth, and the latham foundation for promotion of Humane education. Programs for schools focus on understanding animal behavior, caring for animals, safety with animals, working with animals, and the role of animals in our lives. Programs may include a visit by an adoptable pet, service animal, or therapy pet. Lchs, Inc. also happy to work with home-schoolers programs for community groups include an introduction to lchs, Inc. and the status of animals in Leavenworth County, safety with animals, disaster planning, and the link between animal abuse and domestic violence.
