Affordable Housing: The Affordable Housing Committee is led by concerned leaders who organize around housing justice with the belief that high quality, safe, accessible, and affordable housing for seniors, as well as individuals and families, is a human right. Committee members work in senior buildings to form tenant associations and build power to address building condition concerns while also organizing to preserve affordable housing for seniors. The Organization has built power to pass housing policy that reflects its values at the city, state, and national levels.
Civic Engagement and Movement Politics: Voter registration is a critical piece of the Organization's mission. The Organization believes that everyone in its community who is eligible to register to vote should have the opportunity to do so. The Organization's motto is Value your vote, vote your values.
Healthcare and economic justice: the healthcare and economic justice committee of the organization works on issues of retirement security, minimum and living wage, and healthcare issues. Historically, the committee also worked on nursing home reform and raising the minimum wage for chicago workers. The committee also seeks to strengthen medicare and prevent the expansion of medicare privatization.
