Program areas at Hopscotch Foundation
The majority of our resources this year were used to begin an aquaponics farm in portland. The farm, all enclosed in a controlled environment, was built by high school students from low income areas in portland. Because of climate change and food insecurity, urban farming is growing quickly around the globe. The structure is very large, and produce is grown throughout the entire year. Funds for the program came from oregonask, in conjuction with Oregon summer programming.
During the first half of 2022, Hopscotch continued to supply nutritious food to students from low income families in the portland area.
