The headstart program provides education, health, nutrition, and social development activities for 1,268 three and four year old children and their parents from low-income households through seven sites in harrison county. Gulf Coast Community Action Agency, inc. head start ensures partnerships between families, staff, communities and schools.
The Community service programs aim to combat poverty on a Community level by removing the barriers of sel-sufficiency clients may encounter. The program provides a range of services and activities designed to assist individuals in areas such as education, employment, nutrition, housing, health services and income assistance.
Liheap provides financial assistance to eligible households to help pay the cost of home energy bills and other energy related services. The elderly & handicapped are given priority for services. Other low income clients are required to participate in case management to help improve their lives so they won't need these services for the duration of their lifetime.
