Program areas at Flower Mound High School Choir Booster Club
Provide volunteer and financial support for students to travel out of state in order to participate in choir enrichment activites This tax year, choir students travelled to Orlando, FL. There, they worked with local music clinicians on preparation of key ‘Performance pieces for upcoming competitions. in addition, the students attended a workshop at Walt Disney World, where they ‘were able work with Disney performance staff on singing and choreagraphy Skis
While the majority of the choir performances are {ree for attendees, there are 2 special events that are revenue generating forthe ‘Program. The first Is a madrigal performance In December, during which the students perform a capella music In aMedieval festival dinner format. The second Is a “Pop Show" during which the students performed Broadway and cinema selections The expenses for these events include the music, costumes, and [000s cence ra “The net income Is used to support the program throughout the year
Scholarships for private voice lessons and graduating seniors. Supporting our students Is a critical part of the booster club mission. Many students are unable to afford private voice lessons, which is an important support for students competing in ‘State competitions. The Booster Club provides partial scholarships to cover a portion of the private lesson fees In addition, our graduating senlors have any opportunity to apply for college scholarships - whether or not they choose to pursue music
