B'nai B'rith Covenant House Ii of Tucson

This organization provided affordable housing to the elderly through the operation of a 40-unit hud 202 prac multifamily housing community in Tucson, Arizona. The organization served 48 residents: 60% between the ages 62-81, 29% between ages 82-93 and 11% over the age of 94. In addition to providing decent, safe and sanitary housing for low-income seniors, this project also provided the services of a full-time, on-site service coordinator who assisted residents with obtaining a variety of social services and agency referrals. In 2022, this community slowly resumed social activities and community events after being impacted by the covid-19 pandemic. While residents continued to be impacted by the effects of social isolation and quarantine, many of the referral services provided by the service (cont'd on sch o) coordinator focused home delivered meals, food bank programs, crisis intervention and supportive counseling, welfare checks, emergency pantry distributions, technology support, and benefits and entitlements. Wellness center activities resumed a modified schedule and continued to require social distancing and encouraged mask use while participating in classes.
