Program areas at Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - 1450 Puyallup
The Washington tall Elks therapy program for children provides home-based occupational and/or physical therapy to children with developmental delays or physical disabilities. All services are provided at no cost to the family served. Any child in Washington state with an occupation or physical therapy prescription for treatment is eligible, however only the most critically in need can be accepted into the therapeutic program. Puyallup Elks Lodge 1450 raises funds through various fundraisers and events and contributes funds directly to this important program.
Christmas charities-puyallup Elks raise funds and organize a program geared towards helping less fortunate families provide a healthy and joyous christmas. Funds are raised through various various fundraising activities and various local vendors provide discounting on food and toys to be organized into "christmas baskets" for the receiving families. Families are nominated by Elks members and also may request assistance directly from the Lodge.
Veterans-elks pledge "so long as there are veterans, the benevolent and protective Order of Elks will never forget them." The Elks have several programs that support veterans, including, army of hope that assists injured veterans of the conflicts in iraq and afghanistan, assists families of military reservist and national guard who have been called to active duty. Adopt-a-veteram program, which take the place a family to replace loneliness with hope for veterans in the hospital with no family to help care for them. And veterans rememberance, which lodges hold special events to commemorate veterans remembrance month and raise funds.
