Program areas at American Chemical Society - Chicago Section
The organization sponsers an annual examination in chemistry. The examination is open to all high school students. Eight scholarships were awarded to the students.
Illinois state fair program - sponsered a booth at the Illinois state fair with other Illinois sections to communicate the importance of chemistry in our lives and to spark the interest of young children in chemistry.
Willard gibbs medal award committee - the committee designated with the selection of and banquet planning for this distinguished award.
Project seed - the American Chemical societys social action program that places economically disadvantated high school students in academic, industrial and governmental research laboratories for eight to ten weeks during the summer.
Distinguished service award and 50 year member award are presented to indiviuals in the Chemical community to recognize the accomplishments and service in promoting the field of chemistry in the scientific community.
The Chemical bulletin is an official publication of the organization. It is provided without charge to approximately 3,500 members and other interested parties online through the organizations website. It provides information regarding monthly educational programs, topical groups, meetings and activities to those with an interest in the field of chemistry.
The organization contributes 100% of the earnings of the ipatieff endowment fund for the year ended december 31, 2020 to the john crerar library at the university of Chicago for the purchase of books in the field of chemistry.
High school education - program inteded to increase the awareness and attract high school students to the field of chemistry.
