Alaska Reads. A statewide event celebrating Alaskan writers and books.
National Bookfest in Washington D.C. An annual event sponsored by the Library of Congress. We send one or two delegates to man the Alaska table. Every state is represented by a table clebrating books and reading specific to their States. Funding provided by the Library of Congress.
Reading Rendezvous: An annual book fair for children open to the public at no charge held on the grounds or adjacent park of the main public library in Anchorage. This event kicks off the Summer Reading program of the Anchorage Municipal Libraries. There are games, visiting authors, entertainment, prizes and balloons. Approximately 2000* attendees.
