In doing so, over $ 437,000 was collected in gate tickets for admissions, rented over 50 vendor spaces and served over 100,000 individuals. A carnival was held to attract the public to the agricultural and creative arts events and exhibits. Conducted agricultural events and exhibits at state fair to promote agricultural education, there were over 5, 500 entries, 1,300 exhibitors and 300 exchange passes to agricultural events. Most events were judged and winners received over $100,000 in awards. Many types of livestock were on hand for viewing, such as beef and dairy cattle, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits and equine many educational events were held. For example, teaching how to control, halter, and ride equine market hog shows informed the public of the many cuts of pork. The public was also informed on the highest quality of breeding and marketing animals. These events and exhibits are held for the promotion of agriculture to the general public. Conducted creative arts events and exhibits at state fair to promote creative arts education, there were over 1, 700 entries and 700 exhibitors to the creative arts portion of the state fair. Most events were judged and winners received over $9,000 in awards. The creative arts portion of the state fair displays to the public how different commodities can be used such as baking, canning, quilt making handmade crafts, the process of turning cotton into thread and many others.
