Summer fellows program in this fiscal year, iisme provided fellowships for 100 teachers from 83 schools; 44% of whom teach in schools with a high percentage of educationally disadvantaged students. In participating in iisme's programs, teachers received over $800,000 in stipends and grants, providing a valuable salary supplement to offset our region's high cost of living. 20 teachers from 20 schools were awarded $13,000 in fund for innovation (ffi) grants. Ffi is a competitive grant program for iisme fellows to improve instruction in their classrooms with innovative educational projects.
