District marketing - created an interactive district map and directory for thewestbank.org website. Through interviews with Business owners and residents, identified the need for storefront improvement program to improve the appearance of the district.
Policy - advocating for the district regarding land use policy including regarding the dania hall and lot a city-owned parcels. Created a dania hall taskforce involving neighborhood nonprofits, businesses and residents to begin planning for the dania hall parcel.strategic planning - created a new strategic plan for the organization to direct its activities and priorities.business technical assistance - provided over 550 hours of technical assistance to small businesses in minneapolis.
Safety - ran an ambassador program for the Business district, hiring local youth to clean and maintain the neighborhood and to provide wayfinding services. Ran four de-escalation trainings in the neighborhood for residents and businesses. Conducted four focus groups on safety with residents and businesses. Re-established in person neighborhood monthly safety meetings. Installed artist-made security screens on businesses targeted for theft and vandalism. Cleaned up and planted a vacant parcel to create usable green space for the community.
