Urban Teachers prepares highly effective teachers who significantly accelerate student achievement in the nation's highest-need schools. The organization designs, develops, and evaluates the curriculum and professional development for its teacher preparation program, which delivers a master of science in education to each participant. To date, Urban Teachers has prepared 1,044 participants across four cohorts - residents, year 1 fellows, year 2 fellows, and year 3 fellows - successfully implementing the program in 142 public and charter schools throughout the country.

Program areas at City Teaching Alliance

Urban teachers prepared 778 participants in the following four cohorts; residents - 155 year 1 fellows - 241 year 2 fellows - 236 year 3 fellows - 146. Urban teachers successfully implemented its program in 271 public and charter schools throughout baltimore, dc, and dallas fort worth.
Recruited 155 new residents for cohort year 2022. Efforts to increase diversity proved successful as well, with 70% of cohort 2022 comprised of people of color.
Designed, developed, and evaluated the curriculum and professional development for the organization's Teacher preparation program. The curriculum is used to deliver a master of science in education to each program participant. The overall accompanying sequence of coaching, evaluation, and independent observations, along with quarterly reviews, has proven successful in honing the quality of Urban teachers' preparation program.
