Program areas at Tualatin River Watershed Council
Funded both the Executive Director and Project Manager staff positions. Secured new funds to implement programs and projects outlined in the strategic plan. Provided the Council with support to convene a variety of stakeholders from across the basin. Updated Bylaws and organizational operating procedures. Hosted four half day DEI training sessions for staff and Board members.
Represented the Council on the Tualatin Basin Public Affairs Committee. Provided public outreach activities to residents in Cedar Mill North Johnson Creek neighborhoods. Provided urban residents with educational materials and guidance associated with co-existence strategies related to beavers.
Provided riparian enhancement projects along four streams, including Fields Cree, Wilson Creek, Pecan Creek and Rock Creek. Partnered with Clean Water Services to fund the removal of the fish passage barrier known as the Balm Grove Dam. Used eDNA monitoring technology to determine the location of steelhead, coho, pacific lamprey, and cutthroat trout at forty sites at forty sites across the watershed. Secured funding to implement a rapid bio-assessment along 122 miles of streams. The rapid bio-assessment determine the distribution and abundance of juvenile steelhead and salmon.
