Program areas at Treefort Community Fund
The Treefort music fest is a large, city-wide music and arts festival that supports a large percentage of local artists and venues, as well as local businesses. It had to cancel both its 2020 and 2021 festivals, while still incurring much of the expenses of the 2020 festival. A granting organization, the wend foundation, desired to support the music festival and thus granted the Treefort Community Fund $250,000 from their funds set aside to help arts communities survive the covid pandemic.
Grants were given to those who could show they earned their living by working in the live music industry and that their job was not possible due to the shutdowns related to covid-19. The grants were $400 per recipient.
The Treefort Community Fund helped to raise funds from the Community to support a project that granted local artists funds in order to create art expressing the effects of the covid pandemic on lives and communities.
