Program areas at Torrey Smith Foundation
Back to school fun festeach summer the Foundation partners with walmart to host a "back to school event" to provide resources to students in low-income elementary schools. Teachers and students receive supplies to start the school year. In additional to the supply give away, students participate in fun activities including a stem station.
Holiday cheerthe Foundation helps families enjoy the holiday season by preparing and serving holiday meals and purchsing gifts for families.
L.e.v.e.l teen summitthe l.e.v.e.l (leadership, education, vision, effort, love) teen summit is geared towards high school boys in need of support and guidance as they navigate through critical teenage years and plan for life after high school. The program begins as a three-day summit and continues through the year. The program includes a host of workshops and presentations that focus on character building, decision making, leadership development, and goal setting. The vision of the program is to introduce students to positive mentors, encourage students to pursue higher education, develop strategies to address barriers they may face, connect with and inspire each other to achieve their goals, and help them create a Foundation for a successful future.
