Tikkun-KC's mission is to transform the Kansas City urban core by acquiring and renovating abandoned single-family homes, creating affordable housing for low-income families, providing job training for construction workforce, and repurposing vacant lots. They took a house that was slated for demolition, renovated it into one of the nicest homes on the block, and sold it to a 60-year-old disabled veteran who just became eligible to use his VA benefits. The house was priced to fit the KC MO affordable housing standards.
