Program areas at The Wren's Nest

House tours and storytelling: each saturday and during private bookings and field trips throughout The year. The Wren's Nest offers guided museum tours, interpreting The significance of our national historic landmark and atlanta's oldest house museum. As part of our mission to preserve storytelling perform brer rabbit folktales and folktales from global storytelling each week for live audiences. House tours were offered to The community at no cost during The month of march, when The city-wide phoenix flies program is observed.
Youth education programs - The Wren's Nest is an affiliate of dolly parton's imagination library, and we help connect children ages 0-5 in The 30310 and 30315 zip codes to this monthly free book service. The Wren's Nest is a program partner of The mayor's summer reading club and in 2022 hosted a free book giveaway and special guest story hour featuring live readings of The 2022 selected titles. The scribes youth writing program was revived and featured a five-part creative writing workshop series for middle school students, each lead by a professional writer.
Special events and programs: The Wren's Nest partnered with The southern literary trail to host a traveling exhibit in The summer of 2022 featuring The photograph of p.h. Polk, The official photographer of tuskegee university from 1939 - 1984. In november and december we hosted a special program called "home for The holidays" which paired victorian-inspired holiday decor with guided architecture tours of The house museum.
