The Kallir Family Foundation ("Foundation") was created on may 27, 2005 as a non-profit corporation to promote The study, improvement and advancement of The arts, to foster academic and professional research of art and to support public and educational exhibitions of art.the Foundation currently owns works of art and uses them todirectly carry out its charitable educational and culturalprograms as described below:(1)establish programs to aid charitable, literary or educational activities serving The common welfare; (2) promote The study, improvement and advancement of The arts; (3) support and further through grants or other means artists working in The visual arts; and (4) encourage and further The public's appreciation and understanding of art works created by egon schiele, richard gerstle, grandma moses and any other artists as shall from time to time be found to be appropriate.
The gustav mahler manuscript and The john kane painting remained on loan to The morgan library and The smithsonian american art museum respectively.
