Program areas at The Building Industry Association of Whatcom County

Health insurance assistance and return on industrial insurance (roii) program - members can obtain a competitive health insurance plan through The Association's statewide health trust. The roii select program allows member companies to earn some of their workman's compensation premiums back when they run a safe, injury-free operation.
Governmental affairs - as champions of home ownership, The Association represents and serves as The voice for The Building Industry in Whatcom County by promoting The Industry.
Annual home and garden show - this event, The associaton's largest public service event of The year, provides a showcase for all things local residents love about their homes. For three days, local experts provide free educational seminars, and vendors offer their expertise, services and products to any curious visitor.
Parade of homes - annually, for two days in october, The assocation showcases The best in professional Building and remodeling services. Members can tour local projects displaying a wide variety of housing choices, providing an opportunity to tour high quality homes, and see The new design trends. Builders are on site ready to meet and educate visitors.
Built green - this is a voluntary home-building program designed to create market distinction for builders who incorporate "green" Building practices in their homes. It is based on a statewide program to certify new single-family homes, remodels and "green communities".
Meetings and education - The Association organizes events that allow all members The opportunity to advance their business through networking with other members. These events also provide education of The Association's programs that may benefit its members financially.
