The pilot project geared for a regenerative economy outcome and the pilot projects in 7 communities covering 100 miles of ocean. Pilot research sought to understand protection of endangered herring and their kelp habitat and included multiple partners led by the Native Conservancy.
Green Forests Work Support for Green Forests Work served toward a new milestone of planting 3 million trees of native and mostly hardwood tree species planted over 5000 acres, and that are less likely to naturally colonize on these sites because they were previously surfaced mined land sites. Green Forests project involved planting of up to 20 habitat species to get back a full forest including the American chestnut tree which has the potential to be blight-resistant.
