Stuart Nichols ALS Research Foundation

The Foundation will utilize a scientific advisory panel of experts in the field of neurology with specialization in Als treatment and Research. The purpose of the panel will be to screen various grant proposals and promising study areas needing funding, to identify high priority Research grant opportunities, and to provide an annual reappraisal of prior year grants. The focused approach will be to increase the number of practical trials and activities in the effort to slow down Als destruction of motor neurons. Grants will typically be made to near-term activities that focus on the clinical application of experimental treatments in humans. Near-term focus of effort is designated to accelerate the discovery of new practical treatments. The Foundation will transfer donated funds quickly if promising work is recommended by the advisory panel and sufficient resources are available.
