St. anthony'Anthonys's Physician Organization ("sapo"), in conjunction with mercy hospital south, carries out its healing mission by responding to the diverse needs of the people of our community with special concern for the poor. Sapo works to promote health and provide care marked with excellence, responsible use of our resources and respect and compassion for all people without regard to color, race, religion, creed, national origin, sex, age or handicap. During the year ended june 30, 2020, sapo provided services (over $4,500,000) to a large number (over 19,000 visits) of medicaid and charity care patients in its service to the community.in addition to providing outpatient office services, sapo assists mercy hospital south with offering a wide array of community health programs aimed at keeping members of the community healthy and well informed about important issues that affect their lives. Some of these community programs include community education classes that stress preventative health care and the overall well-being of our community.the services provided by sapo demonstrate the ongoing commitment of the Organization to servicing in a leadership role as an advocate for responsive health care services for the community with a deep commitment and sensitivity to meeting the needs of the poor.
