Program areas at FOCUS
The focus food pantry program served 5,983 households with 18,133 individuals with at least a week's food, 21 meals per person at each monthly visit. We continued Our collaboration with Feeding america of eastern Wisconsin by using their direct connect program which allowed us to distribute 225,875 additional pounds of food. In addition we collected and distributed 436,267 pounds of donated food from the community and other free sources to the households we serve.
The focus family backpacks program provides nutritious weekend meals in a discrete backpack for Wisconsin rapids public school families facing hunger. During 2022 an average of 100 backpacks were packed each week that in total provide over 13,000 meals for the community.
The focus neighborhood meal program provides free meals to anyone in need of a meal or a connection to Our community. In non-pandemic times we offer a meal every thursday and the last 2 tuesdays of each month. We typically serve about 175 meals during Our eat in meals and have been serving about 135 meals during the pandemic as take-out meals on each thursday.
