Program areas at South Brunswick Athletic Association
Recreational baseball and softball leaques are offered in spring, summer and fall and are organized by school grade. The leaque provides uniforms, umpires, equipment and participation awards. Expenses also include field equipment and supplies. Member fees also cover the cost of insurance, background checks for coaches, and clinics and training programs. The Association also grants scholarships for graduating high school seniors and holds an annual event for families to celebrate the season. The Association also sponsors a cadet umpire program
The Association organizes and sponsors competitive all-star travel baseball and softball teams. Children are selected fromthe recreation program following a competitive tryout process. The teams play in local, statewide and regiona/national tournaments The Association also provides support for the 12 year old boys team to travel to Cooperstown, NY for a week-long tournament and for the 12 year old girls softball team to play in a week-long tournament. Support helps cover the cost of uniforms, tournament entrance fees and other team-related expenses
The Association sponsors summer and fall tournaments for the travel baseball and softball teams as well as a district/state tournament. The tournaments provide a competitive environment for the teams to compete against other local all-star and private travel teams. Profits from the tournaments are shared between the Association and the travel teams to help fund the cost ofthe recreational leaques, field improvements and new equipment, helping to keep recreation costs stable each year and to helpthe travel teams fund the cost of additional tournaments, uniforms
