Habitat is a nondenominational christian organization whose purpose is to create decent affordable housing for those in need, and to make shelter a matter of conscience and action in Rockbridge county. for the year ended june 30, 2023, Habitat completed 2 houses for families in need and 16 critical home repairs.
Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity independently owns and operates two Habitat restores which accept donations and sell a constantly changing inventory of diverse, high-quality merchandise to the public at a fraction of the retail price, while diverting reusable household items and building materials from Area landfills. Sales of donated items help Habitat for Humanity partner with local families to build, rehabilitate and repair safe and affordable homes in the community.
