Program areas at Revolution5
Revolution5 leadership institute had 11 students enrolled. Class instruction time averages nine hours per week and covers everything from worldview to public communication to entrepreneurship to governance. The students live in a dormitory style environment on camplus, inclusive of room and board. The students were taken on nine developmental trips, including the grand tetons, Utah, and several trips around co. The focus of the trips is developing core leadership skills, including overcoming adversity, self-awareness, and servant leadership. All the students took a missions trip to tajikistan 2/15 - 3/3 to work with afghan refugees teaching english and sharing the love of christ in a predominantly muslim venue. Our commisioning ceremony was held on may 21st, 2022 in Colorado springs.
Over the 21-22 program year, rev5 hosted weekend retreats for high school students. There were two weekend retreats for high school students, attended by 17 students. These retreats were for the purpose of leadership development, healthy peer relationships, soft skills development, and focusing lifes purpose. The intended outcomes of these retreats were that the participants would walk away with the skills to be better situated to make a significant difference in their next year of school and be better equipped with a perspective on the importance of leadership in their generation.
The association of alumni was informally formed with a two-fold intent 1to retain connection with alumni, including developing a long term investment into the graduates of rev5 and 2 to extend networking opportunities. In the 20-21 year, we launched an alumni homecoming year called cadre. Previous graduates were given the opportunity to return to rev5 for a year of continuing education in leadership development. Four alumni joined us this year. They had opportunities to lead various parts of the institute developing young leaders in the first year class, including leading retreats and aiding in the one-on-one emotional intelligence development of first year students. Three of the alumni were able to join with the institute students on the missions trip to tajikistan.
