Program areas at Retail Alliance
Conducted advocacy and grassroots communications efforts regarding issues of importance to members (larceny thresholds, sales tax absorption, etc) through orientation sessions, presentations, written documentation (newsletters, etc) and conducted surveys on salient issues. This effort was for the benefit of all 423 members, of which approximately 423 actively participated.
Actively presented information on the Retail industry, best practices and member initiatives to members and others in the form of a weekly e-newsletter.
Conducted 25 networking events for members to fraternize with peers and share information, 12 educational meetings for members, and 11 strategic planning meetings with members.conducted peer exchange groups for Retail owners to discuss challenges and best practices.
Oversee a loss prevention task force for members and law enforcement to educate members on the issues related to the prevention of Retail theft, organized Retail crime, and general inventory shrinkage.
Coordinated the purchase of advertising for use by members in conjunction with Retail events (sales tax holiday, mothers day, fathers day, christmas, etc)
Conducted signature forums to educate and recognize retailers in hampton roads; southside quarterly breakfast and annual retailer of the year gala.
